Senior DevOps Engineer
Make deployment boring, reliable, and repeatable.
About the Role
We build and run production systems for clients, and we want the infrastructure under them to be automated, observable, and dull in the best possible way. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you design and maintain the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and automation that let the team ship with confidence.
You'll work inside a Monks delivery team, alongside engineers and clients, owning the platform everything else runs on.
We're all-in on agentic engineering. Tools like Claude Code and Codex are part of our everyday workflow, and we're looking for people who are genuinely fluent working alongside AI coding agents and excited to push those practices further.
Who You Are
- Automation-minded: if you do something twice by hand, you script it.
- Reliability-focused: you design for the failure, not just the happy path.
- Self-managing: you drive work forward in a high-flexibility, high-accountability setting.
- A clear communicator: you make infrastructure understandable to the whole team.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain infrastructure as code with a cloud-agnostic approach (Terraform, Ansible), deployed on AWS.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability, and keep systems highly available.
- Deploy and support AI services and pipelines in production.
- Automate provisioning and configuration across environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate across the delivery team.
What You Bring
- 5+ years in DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform and/or Ansible, and a cloud-agnostic mindset.
- Strong AWS experience.
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- CI/CD tooling and scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Monitoring and observability practices.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile consulting environment.
Extra Credit
- You've deployed AI or LLM services at scale.
- Cloud cost optimization experience.
- Security best practices and hardening.
- Multi-cloud experience.
- Open-source work you're proud to link.
