The job
As a "Manager – Data Privacy and Security" within AVEVA’s Data Office, this role will help strengthen how we protect, govern and responsibly use enterprise data. It will work closely with Legal, Security, Technology and business teams to embed privacy and security into data practices, projects and emerging AI initiatives. The role combines strategic thinking with practical delivery - turning regulatory and security requirements into clear, scalable processes that enable the business to use data with confidence. It will be part of a collaborative Data Office team focused on building trusted, secure and responsible data capabilities across AVEVA.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and mature AVEVA’s data privacy and security framework, policies, standards and operating processes in partnership with Legal, Information Security and business stakeholders.
- Lead privacy and security assessments for data initiatives, including data sharing, new technologies, AI use cases, strategic projects and changes to data processing.
- Establish and maintain appropriate controls for data classification, access, retention, sharing, usage and protection across the data lifecycle.
- Partner with Data Owners, Technology, Security, Legal and other stakeholders to identify data privacy and security risks and drive appropriate remediation.
- Monitor changes in data privacy and security regulations and translate them into practical requirements, guidance and actions for the business.
Essential requirements
- Proven experience in data privacy, data protection, information security or a closely related discipline, preferably within a global enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of data protection principles, privacy regulations and security controls, with practical experience applying them to business and technology initiatives.
- Experience developing or implementing data privacy and security policies, standards, controls, assessments and operating processes.
- Ability to work effectively with Legal, Information Security, Technology, Data and business teams across different functions and geographies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, make sound recommendations and drive issues through to resolution.

Hybrid working
We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection.
