We are seeking a Data Center Operations & Projects Manager with enterprise accountability for the operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and strategic development of Morgan Stanley's data centre portfolio.

The role combines end to end ownership of critical facilities operations with executive leadership of data centre capital projects and M&E lifecycle management. It is accountable for uptime, safety, risk posture, engineering excellence, and delivery of infrastructure investments supporting mission critical business services.

Operating with delegated executive authority, the role serves as a senior decision maker during incidents, a steward of operational and delivery risk, and a trusted advisor to technology, real estate, and risk leadership on critical facilities strategy. Availability to support 24x7 operations is an inherent expectation of the role.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Own end-to-end accountability for the operational performance, resilience, and availability of Morgan Stanley’s enterprise data centre portfolio, including M&E infrastructure and critical facilities operations.

• Maintain executive-level understanding of design intent, failure scenarios, operating configurations, and contingency plans to support informed, risk-based decision making.

• Act as the senior management escalation point for data centre incidents, leading executive response, impact assessment, root cause governance, and long-term remediation.

• Provide executive ownership of data centre capital projects, including scoping, planning, budgeting, tendering, vendor selection, contract governance, delivery, commissioning, and handover into operations.

• Own lifecycle asset management, long-term capital planning, infrastructure renewal strategies, and compliance with CDM regulations and internal engineering standards.

• Oversee Managed Service Providers, consultants, contractors, OEMs, landlords, and internal partners, holding vendors accountable for safety, resilience, risk management, service quality, performance improvement, and value realization.

• Serve as an accountable executive for facilities-related operational and delivery risk, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and internal control requirements.

• Define and govern operating procedures, emergency response frameworks, maintenance strategies, engineering standards, technical audits, operational reviews, health and safety assessments, and regulatory engagements.

• Own financial stewardship for data centre operations and capital programs, including budget oversight, cost discipline, executive reporting, and transparency on resilience posture, project delivery, risk, and compliance.

• Provide senior leadership and strategic advice on operational excellence, safety culture, capacity planning, infrastructure investment, resilience strategy, continuous improvement, energy efficiency, environmental management, and sustainability initiatives.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Deep technical expertise in data centre operations and mission critical facilities management.

• Extensive experience delivering complex M&E and technology infrastructure projects in high availability environments.

• Proven Vice President-level leadership with accountability for uptime, risk, regulatory compliance, and capital delivery.

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including operational and capital budget ownership and vendor governance.

• Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations, engineering standards, and lifecycle asset management.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with credibility in executive forums.

• Sound judgment and decision making capability under operational and delivery pressure.

• Ability to meet the 24x7 executive on call accountability for critical incidents; weekend and out of hours engagement is expected as part of leadership responsibility.

• Ability to engage with senior internal stakeholders, regulators, landlords, and strategic service partners is required.

• Preferred experience within financial services or similarly regulated, risk intensive environments.

• Preferred understanding of data centre resiliency architecture (UPS, generation, cooling, containment, structured cabling).

• Preferred leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise outcomes.

• Preferred process driven leadership approach with a strong focus on governance and risk management.
