What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

The Applications Development Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing product applications for existing and pre-release products to provide maximum value to the customers.

The candidate is expected to support the following:
 

• Respond to customer requests and perform complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution.
• Work closely with customers to understand process challenges and provide optimized metrology solutions.
• Support the development of FaST systems at the customer site.
• Perform product diagnosis, problem resolution, interface with software and systems engineering to verify that hardware and software problems have been resolved.
• Conduct customer product demonstrations and technical training including on-site training of customer and end users.
• Develop and document new applications of existing and pre-release products, including BKMs.
• Review and evaluate quality of data in other related technical documents.
• Travel to customer sites and headquarters for training on an annual basis will be required.

Ideal Candidate

Modern FinFet semiconductor processing, result in unique challenges for the litho/etch module.

The ideal candidate needs to be able to identify and understand the FinFet process flow and these issues that arise and their resultant behavior.  Understand where the critical metrology points are and how to monitor for these issues in the future. Past/present semiconductor processing experience will be an advantage in understanding the key customer challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidate must have BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields and strong technical background.

• Preferred work experience in semiconductor processing or equipment industry.
• Candidate must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must also be self-driven, and a strong team player.
• Ability to independently resolve complex problems.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong project management skills
• JMP/Python experience is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
