Why This Role Matters
This isn't a leadership role where you'll spend your day behind a desk. You'll be an active presence in the kitchen, working alongside your team and making sure our patients, employees, and guests receive quality food and service.
Food service at MaineGeneral Health is about more than getting meals from the kitchen to the tray line. A good meal can make someone's day, whether it's a patient who needs a little comfort, an employee grabbing lunch during a busy shift, or a visitor spending a long day at the hospital.
We take pride in the food we serve and where it comes from. We use responsibly sourced foods and incorporate as many local foods into our menu program as possible, with approximately 20% of our food budget dedicated to locally sourced foods for our patients, employees, and guests. We're also deeply connected to the community, with a strong focus on addressing food insecurity in Central Maine.
You'll have the opportunity to help shape a team, strengthen a culture, and make a difference through something as simple and meaningful as a good meal.
