Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Criminal Justice Engagement Coordinator to join our Criminal Justice Team at Better Days Bolton.

You’ll support people involved with the criminal justice system to access and engage with treatment, including those being released from prison. You’ll complete assessments, provide one-to-one support and help individuals access the right care to support their recovery and reduce the risk of further offending.

You’ll also work closely with Probation, Prisons, Courts, Housing and other partner agencies to provide joined-up support and effective pathways into treatment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support criminal justice referrals and Continuity of Care, helping people access and remain engaged with treatment.

  • Complete holistic assessments, care plans and risk assessments.

  • Provide one-to-one interventions that encourage positive change and recovery.

  • Work closely with criminal justice and community partners to provide coordinated support.

  • Support people following release from prison and through other criminal justice treatment pathways.

  • Maintain accurate records and respond appropriately to safeguarding and risk concerns.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this.

  • An understanding of brief interventions and approaches that support positive behaviour change.

  • Experience working with carers and families.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, IT and organisational skills.

  • Experience of assessment, recovery planning, risk management or one-to-one interventions would be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of criminal justice services and safeguarding would also be desirable.

If you’re passionate about helping people involved with the criminal justice system access the support they need to make positive and lasting changes, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis as suitable candidates apply, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a successful candidate is appointed.
