Credit Risk Manager
What you do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Review and assess Credit Proposals / Credit Reviews / Credit Memos and other credit applications for corporate and commercial borrowers.
• Conduct independent credit analysis on borrowers, guarantors, security structures, industry outlook, financial performance, cash flow generation and repayment capacity.
• Evaluate key credit risks and assess the adequacy of risk mitigants proposed by Business Units.
• Verify the appropriateness of customer segmentation, industry classification, credit grading and internal rating assessments performed by Business Units.
• Review compliance with the Bank's Credit Policies, Target Market (TM), Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC), regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
• Review ESG risk assessments and ensure that the proposed ESG risk rating is appropriate and adequately supported.
• Independently review AML/CFT/KYC-related information and identify any material concerns that may affect credit decisions.
• Ensure that the Bank's exposure remains within approved internal, regulatory and concentration limits.
• Exercise delegated lending authority to approve, decline, recommend or escalate credit applications as appropriate.
• Participate in annual reviews, portfolio reviews, watchlist monitoring and problem credit discussions where required.
• Independently review covenant compliance and approval condition fulfilment where applicable.
• Provide credit advice and feedback to Business Units on structure, risk mitigation and policy interpretation.
• Support the implementation of credit policy enhancements, regulatory changes, system enhancements and other departmental initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc assignments and projects as assigned by Team Head and Department Head
Who you are
• Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration or related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, credit risk management or wholesale lending, with substantial experience in independent credit assessment
• Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Good understanding of financial statements and credit risk fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and report writing skills.
• Good command of English and Chinese (written and spoken)
