The successful delivery of hyperscale data centers and mission-critical infrastructure depends on disciplined contract administration, accurate documentation, effective communication, and proactive management of contractual obligations. Contracts Specialists play an important role in supporting project teams by maintaining contract records, coordinating change documentation, tracking commercial activities, and helping ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Contracts Specialist with Michels Infrastructure Solutions, you will work closely with Project Management, Contracts Management, Procurement, Project Controls, Scheduling, Operations, and Legal teams to support the administration of complex construction contracts on some of North America's largest mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Position Overview
As a Contracts Specialist, you will support the administration and management of owner contracts, subcontracts, supplier agreements, purchase orders, and other project-related commercial documents. You will assist project teams with contract compliance, document control, change management, correspondence management, reporting, and recordkeeping activities.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment where accuracy, organization, communication, and problem-solving are critical to success.
You will gain exposure to all phases of contract administration while supporting complex mission-critical construction projects from project startup through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Support contract administration activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain contract files, logs, registers, correspondence records, and commercial documentation.
- Assist with change management processes, documentation tracking, and contractual communications.
- Monitor contract compliance requirements and assist project teams with documentation needs.
- Support commercial reporting, risk tracking, and project record management activities.
- Coordinate contract-related information across project teams and business functions.
What You'll Do
- Maintain organized and accurate records for owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, consulting agreements, and supplier agreements.
- Assist with management of contract logs, change order logs, notice registers, correspondence files, and commercial tracking tools.
- Track project changes, contractual notices, requests for information, directives, and commercial events.
- Support preparation of change requests, contract modifications, change orders, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Controls, Scheduling, Procurement, Operations, and Legal teams to collect and maintain supporting documentation.
- Monitor contract deliverables, milestone requirements, documentation obligations, and compliance deadlines.
- Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, commercial summaries, and management updates.
- Support audits, document reviews, and project records management activities.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready files throughout project execution.
- Assist with project turnover and closeout documentation.
- Support contract risk management activities by tracking issues, action items, potential changes, and commercial exposure documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with maintaining meeting records and action item tracking.

What It Takes
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal Studies, Communications, or a related field and 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting contract administration, project controls, procurement, project management, document control, commercial management, or construction operations is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and work with contractual documents, business records, and project documentation.
- Experience maintaining records, logs, reports, correspondence, and document management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with contract management systems, ERP systems, document management platforms, or project controls software is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting construction, EPC, infrastructure, mission-critical, industrial, or energy projects is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% and support long-term onsite project assignments throughout North America as required.
