We're looking for a “Consumer Communications Expert Lead” to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, leading ING Australia's consumer communications agenda across owned and earned media channels. This is a unique opportunity to shape how one of Australia's most recognised banking brands connects with customers, stakeholders and the broader community.

Working closely with stakeholders across the bank, you'll identify compelling stories, develop integrated communications strategies, and help position ING as a trusted and relevant voice in the market.

What you’ll do …

• Lead ING's consumer media relations strategy and day-to-day press office activity.
• Develop and execute proactive communications campaigns that support business, brand and product objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, producers, influencers and content creators.
• Identify newsworthy opportunities and transform them into impactful media stories.
• Lead social media and influencer engagement strategies in partnership with Brand and Marketing teams.
• Support major campaigns, product launches, sponsorships, partnerships and customer initiatives through integrated communications planning and execution.
• Provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
• Coach and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Support issues and crisis communications planning, ensuring ING is prepared to respond confidently and effectively.

What we’re looking for…

• Significant experience in public relations, media relations, journalism, communications or brand communications.
• Strong awareness of social influencer and creator networks.
• Proven success leading earned media, social media and integrated communications programs.
• Strong knowledge of Australia's media landscape and social media ecosystem.
• Exceptional storytelling, writing and content development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Experience delivering communications campaigns within a complex organisation.
• Experience managing agencies, budgets and external partners.
