Construction Project Manager

What this job involves:

We are currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Project and Development Services team with open roles in both Ohio and Indiana. In this role, you'll manage complex commercial construction and real estate projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. You will be responsible for developing project scopes, managing schedules and construction budgets, reviewing construction documents, coordinating project stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery in alignment with client objectives.

At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. You'll provide superior client service while proactively managing project risks and issues, overseeing construction activities, conducting project meetings, coordinating procurement and vendor activities, and maintaining meticulous project documentation. What sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe, and you'll work alongside talented professionals committed to delivering exceptional project outcomes.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage large-scale commercial construction projects from concept, design, and pre-construction through construction, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Develop and maintain detailed project scopes, construction budgets, cost forecasts, and master project schedules that align with client objectives
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) drawings and specifications to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and executed
  • Conduct and document regular project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate procurement activities, vendor RFPs, contractor bidding processes, and contract administration
  • Manage general contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks, and proactively resolve construction-related issues to minimize delays and budget impacts
  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, construction schedules, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing, contract terms, and quality deliverables
  • Prepare project status reports, track project financials, process purchase orders and invoices, and maintain accurate cost-control and forecasting documentation
  • Coordinate building inspections, permit requirements, commissioning activities, punch-list completion, and project turnover processes
  • Manage accounts receivable and project financial reporting in accordance with corporate finance guidelines

Required qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related field; equivalent construction management experience will also be considered
  • 4+ years of commercial construction project management experience managing projects from design through construction and closeout
  • Proven experience developing, managing, and forecasting construction budgets, including cost tracking, contingency management, and change order administration
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules and coordinating multiple trades to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP construction drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods, permitting processes, building systems, life-safety requirements, and local building codes
  • Experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of project controls, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project closeout documentation
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with executive-level clients and construction teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously and work effectively in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency with construction management platforms and scheduling software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar systems
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred qualifications:

  • Direct experience managing commercial office, industrial, healthcare, retail, mission-critical, corporate workplace, or tenant improvement construction projects
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM (Certified Construction Manager), LEED, or OSHA training credentials
  • Experience representing owners or corporate clients during design and construction phases
  • Flexibility with work hours and willingness to travel as projects require
