Über diese Configuration Center Technician Stelle bei Hendrick Automotive Group
Position Summary:
The Configuration Center Technician is the operational backbone of the Hendrick Automotive Group IT Configuration Center.
This role is responsible for the daily physical and logistical functions that keep the center running: receiving and staging
incoming equipment, maintaining warehouse organization, managing asset inventory, operating material-handling
equipment, coordinating disposal of end-of-life assets, and supporting device imaging workflows. The work is hands-on,
physical, and time-sensitive — and it directly enables the organization's ability to deploy technology to 246+ locations on
schedule.
This role works in close coordination with the IT Purchasing team and the Configuration Center's technical staff. While the
focus is on operational execution rather than technical configuration, the Configuration Center Technician is expected to
understand the flow of equipment through the center well enough to identify and flag process gaps, inventory discrepancies,
and logistics issues before they affect deployments.
Core Responsibilities:
Receiving and Staging
● Receive, inspect, and document all incoming equipment shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
● Stage equipment by deployment project, location, or asset type in accordance with established center layout and
labeling standards.
● Coordinate with IT Purchasing on expected inbound shipments and flag discrepancies at receipt.
Warehouse Organization
● Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled warehouse space across all equipment categories.
● Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and reconcile counts against asset management records.
● Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive IT equipment and consumables.
Material Handling and Equipment Movement
● Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to move pallets, racks, and bulk shipments safely within
the facility.
● Coordinate inbound and outbound freight logistics, including scheduling pickups and managing carrier interactions
at the dock.
● Maintain forklift certification and adhere to all facility safety requirements.
Asset Disposal and Surplus Management
● Coordinate end-of-life asset disposals in accordance with HAG IT asset disposition policy.
● Prepare surplus equipment for recycling, trade-in, or certified destruction; maintain chain-of-custody
documentation.
● Interface with approved ITAD vendors for scheduled disposal events.
Device Imaging Support
● Support imaging workflows by preparing devices for imaging queues, tracking imaging status, and staging
completed units for shipment.
● Flag imaging failures or configuration exceptions to the technical team for resolution.
Inventory and Asset Management
● Maintain accurate asset records in ServiceNow for all equipment received, staged, deployed, returned, or disposed
— ensuring records are updated at each lifecycle transition.
● Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and reconcile counts against system records; investigate and resolve
discrepancies.
● Install and configure software and applications on devices as part of the imaging and deployment preparation
workflow, following established build standards.
● Track software entitlements and license assignments for devices processed through the Configuration Center; flag
over-allocation or unassigned licenses to the appropriate team.
● Support deployment packing and shipment preparation, including kitting equipment for field deployments.
● Identify and escalate operational issues — space constraints, equipment damage, vendor delays — to the
appropriate coordinator or director.
What This Role Is Not Responsible For
This role does not own advanced device configuration, network setup, or custom application deployment outside of
established imaging and build standards — those functions belong to the Configuration Center's technical staff. This role does
not manage vendor contracts or negotiate with suppliers; that function sits with IT Purchasing. This role is not responsible for
directing field deployment activity at remote locations.
Experience and Qualifications:
● Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical operations role, preferably in a technology or electronics
environment.
● Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
● Familiarity with inventory management practices and asset tracking systems.
● Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds; comfort working in a warehouse environment.
● Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable — equipment accuracy and physical order in the center directly affect
deployment outcomes.
● Basic proficiency with inventory or asset management software; willingness to learn HAG's systems.
● Proficiency in ServiceNow, particularly for asset management and request fulfillment workflows; willingness to
develop deeper platform competency as HAG's ServiceNow footprint grows.
● Effective verbal and written communication for coordinating with IT Purchasing, technical staff, and vendors.

This role works primarily on site at the Hendrick Automotive Group IT Configuration Center. The environment includes
warehouse space, loading docks, and active equipment staging areas. Work involves regular physical activity including lifting,
