Compliance Supervisor – Port Kembla, NSW

Part Time 3 Days per week – flexible days or Part Time School Hours across 5 days per week

About the role and opportunity on offer –

We are seeking a Compliance Supervisor to join our transport operations team and play a critical role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient transport network.

You will be responsible for overseeing compliance across drivers, subcontractors, fleet assets, and operational processes. This role will ensure adherence to Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVAS accreditation requirements, fatigue management obligations, vehicle maintenance standards, and customer-specific compliance requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, investigating issues, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Transport industry experience is highly regarded but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in compliance, safety, quality assurance, auditing, governance, or other highly regulated environments who are looking to apply their skills in the transport and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to

  • Ensure compliance with HVNL, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVAS accreditation requirements, customer obligations, and company policies across transport operations.

  • Monitor and manage NHVAS fatigue, mass management, and maintenance programs, including quarterly NHVR compliance reporting and annual management system reviews.

  • Investigate fatigue, mass, and other compliance breaches, maintain TRAC records, and implement corrective and preventative actions.

  • Conduct Work Diary audits and monitor driver compliance with Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and legislative requirements.

  • Oversee fleet maintenance compliance, ensuring vehicle records remain current, audit-ready, and aligned with NHVAS standards.

  • Manage driver, vehicle, and subcontractor compliance, including licences, medicals, permits, inductions, qualifications, insurances, and competency requirements.

  • Maintain training matrices, coordinate compliance-related training and renewals, and support leaders in developing a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records, manage documentation, and ensure audit readiness across multiple compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the confidence to review data, identify trends, investigate issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
