Your Mission:

We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our fast-growing team at Nuvei Liquidity, crypto center of excellence within the Nuvei Group. Nuvei Liquidity is one of only a handful of companies in Lithuania to have successfully obtained both a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence under MiCA and a Payment Institution licence for the transfer of Electronic Money Tokens (EMTs). This positions us at the forefront of regulated digital asset services in the EU.

In this role, you will act as the first line of defence - performing ongoing transaction monitoring, PEP and sanctions screening, and corporate client onboarding, making well-reasoned AML/CTF decisions, and escalating suspicious activity, sanction hits and complex cases to the MLRO. Reporting directly to the MLRO, you will help ensure our KYC, AML and CTF controls remain effective in a fast-moving, heavily regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and assessing alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems;
  • Acting as a first line of defence when monitoring and screening sanctions, analysing possible matches and making decisions on false positives;
  • Requesting, collecting and evaluating supporting information in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements;
  • Making well-reasoned AML/CTF decisions and clearly communicating outcomes to relevant stakeholders;
  • Escalating possible suspicious activity, sanction hits, and complex cases to the MLRO for further handling;
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance of the KYC, AML and CTF programme, processes and instructions with the applicable requirements of legal acts;
  • Performing corporate client onboarding, including collection, verification and assessment of legal and corporate documentation;
  • Ensuring the MLRO is provided with sufficient and exhaustive information to further perform the required AML/CTF checks and verifications in order to onboard or reject a client
  • Properly tracking handled cases (ongoing monitoring and/or screening of transactions and/or KYC) under all required logs, and delivering against the KPIs and SLAs set for the covered functions;
  • Continuously providing feedback on possible or needed changes and improvements to processes and procedures;
  • Staying up to date with internal policies, procedures and escalated changes within compliance systems, and being proactive in following legislative changes, regulatory recommendations and industry best practices on AML/CTF, KYC, client onboarding, PEP and sanctions screening;
  • Undertaking any other duties as determined by the direct manager or the higher management line/body of the Company.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in AML/CTF, KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, or client onboarding, preferably within a Lithuanian financial institution or obliged entity supervised by the Bank of Lithuania.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks, risk-based customer due diligence, and screening processes relating to PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media.
  • Preferably familiarity with virtual assets and their underlying technologies.
  • Tech-savvy & able to use multiple different internal/external systems & databases to collect & assess information.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and make well-reasoned decisions
  • Good communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams (working language is English).
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within deadlines.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and alignment with the company’s compliance culture.
  • Certifications such as CAMS or ICA are a plus.

The annual salary range for this role is up to EUR €2,437 Gross (before tax) a month. This range represents the expected starting salary for candidates hired into this role in the specified location. If the position is filled in a different location, a different salary range may apply due to objective factors such as local labor market conditions and cost of living.

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Nuvei and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
