Manufacturing / Supply Chain Co-op: In this role you will be responsible for key elements of shop-floor industrialization and continuous improvement for the assembly of Additive Printers.

Essential Responsibilities

In this internship experience, you’ll be expected to:

• Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing, including how they are reflected in routers, work instructions, and in-process inspection points
• Support manufacturing processes for additive printer assembly, including assembly fixture/tooling design
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, including NC follow-up, assembly error-proofing, and closure of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) findings
• Ensure safe work conditions via Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives, including safe design and use of fixtures, tooling, and material handling methods
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and stable operations in our increasingly complex and demanding environment, including inventory and material handling strategy improvements
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with suppliers while building project management skills and business acumen, including Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tracking to monitor performance and drive actions

Qualifications/Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Master’s Degree program at an accredited university. Degrees focused on Mechanical, Electrical, Material Sciences, Computer Sciences or other relevant STEM majors.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding.

Desired Characteristics

• Passion for technology and additive manufacturing: Strong commitment to a career in technology and an aptitude for additive manufacturing.

• Additive knowledge: Working knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies and applications (coursework, labs, projects, or internships).

• Problem‑solving mindset: Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and curiosity to understand unfamiliar technical areas (materials behavior, process controls, printability, etc.). Familiarity with statistics or design of experiments is a plus.

• Data and software skills: Exposure to CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or similar); Experience with Python, MATLAB, Spotfire, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization

• Systems and hardware interest: Interest in hands‑on work with machines, test setups, sensors, and instrumentation.

• Communication and teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Compensation: Pay rates for this position begin at $24/hour and increase for each undergraduate year completed; graduate students may be eligible for higher rates based on experience and program guidelines.
