About The Role

  • NSW Private Hospitals are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coding Support Officer (CSO) to join our Health Information Services (HIS) team at Mater Hospital & Sydney Private Hospital. This role is essential in supporting the Clinical Coding function to ensure the timely and complete processing of hospital separations.
  • Working closely with the Manager HIS and Clinical Coding team, you will play a critical role in managing coding workflows, resolving documentation queries, and ensuring accurate and complete clinical information is available for coding.

About You

  • Experience in a hospital or health information environment (highly desirable).
  • Understanding of health information systems (e.g. Webpas, deLacy – desirable).
  • Monitor and manage outstanding clinical coding workloads and hospital separations.
  • Liaise with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), Practice Managers, and external providers to resolve clinical documentation queries.
  • Generate and analyse reporting systems (e.g. Webpas) to track and prioritise discharge coding.
  • Support the coding team by coordinating outstanding documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external coding audits, including system access and documentation retrieval.
