POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Read, and understand shop drawings, blueprints, product specifications
- Process CNC cut files, be able to edit programs using programming software
- Monitor CNC machine operation and safely intervene in the event of machine malfunction
- Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts, verify compliance with job specification and tolerances, accurately read a tape measure
- Learn and perform daily CNC machine maintenance and performance checks
- Learn CNC machine repair and replacement of internal parts
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment
- Report issues with tools, equipment, or unsafe conditions
- Forklift and overhead crane operation, training provided
- Adhere to all OSHA and Swinerton safety practices and procedures
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years as a CNC operator or programmer (metal, wood, waterjet, laser engraver or 3d printer)
- Ability to precisely measure using tape measure
- Ability to read and comprehend shop drawings
- Familiarity with power tools, woodworking, home remodeling, or construction
- This is a physical job. Able to meet physical demands of the job: standing for extended periods, frequent squatting, frequent kneeling, lifting loads up to 50 pounds
- Some advanced computer experience, i.e. Photoshop, Google sketch up, Inkscape, Blender, 3D CAD or other modeling software
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn
- Mechanical aptitude, good math skills
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions
- Strong sense of urgency
