For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. Requirements: Maintains patient medical records in Hospice.  Ensures accurate and timely filing of Plans of Care, Certificate of Terminal Illness in the patients charts. Reaches out to community physicians to ensure hospice documents are signed and filed.

Salary: $67,340.30/ annually

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of clerical experience in an office environment is required.  One year of Medical Records experience is preferred.
• Competency with computer software and peripherals is required.
• Data entry experience is required.
• High level of customer services answering telephone and responding to telephone inquiries is required.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and ICD-9 is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Business School or some college preferred.
