What You'll Do
As an ICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will:
- Review and optimize medication therapy for critically ill patients
- Collaborate with providers to develop individualized treatment plans
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust therapies to ensure safe and effective care
- Identify and resolve medication-related issues, adverse reactions, and drug interactions
- Provide drug information and clinical consultation to physicians, nurses, and patients
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care discussions
- Support formulary management, policy development, and quality initiatives
- Document clinical interventions and medication therapy recommendations
- Serve as a clinical resource and educator for pharmacy staff, students, and residents
- Contribute to medication safety and regulatory compliance efforts
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Current Pharmacist License in the state of practice
- Completion of a PGY-1 Residency or 4 years of hospital pharmacy experience in a specialty area
- Missouri pharmacists must obtain a Medication Therapy Services Certificate within 90 days of hire
Preferred
- PGY-2 Residency in Critical Care or related specialty
- Four or more years of clinical pharmacy experience
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification or eligibility
- Previous experience precepting pharmacy students or residents
