Civil 3D BIM Modeler (Roads & Highways)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil 3D BIM Modeler (Roads & Highways) to join our team! In this role you will get to to support the BIM Coordinator and our Project Delivery Teams to execute the day-to-day development, establishment and implementation of BIM in Parsons Main office in Abu Dhabi.​

What You’ll Be Doing:  

• Work closely with CAD / BIM manager and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
• Coordinate with different CAD teams, ensuring that the design inputs requirement and clashes are notified and deadlines are met.
• Utilize a CAD workstations, CAD resources and works with BIM lead, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
• Understand BIM modeling process and able to manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion.
• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.
• Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
• Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
• Ensure proper documentation of all design changes, drawing revisions, and project updates for future reference and auditing.
• Manage the digital archiving of completed project drawings and related documents, maintaining an organized system for easy access.
• Maintain effective communication with Team Leads, engineers, and other departments to resolve any design-related issues or discrepancies.
• Implement quality control processes to catch errors early in the design process, avoiding costly revisions or project delays.
• Customize CAD software and tools to optimize productivity and streamline design processes.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3 Years Diploma in Engineering from an accredited University.
• Minimum 10+ years Civil 3D experience within depth working knowledge of current Civil 3D versions; Proficient in CAD design 2D/3D (AutoCAD and Civil 3D).
• Able to demonstrate (skill assessment) ability to set up new Civil 3D project files for the team; Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and multitasking ability; Produce Civil 3D Families according to project requirements.
• Able to maintain standards and library of Civil 3D families/objects; Able to run clash detection in Civil 3D.
• Strong computer skills; Experience of producing working drawings in Civil 3D.
• Expert knowledge of Civil 3D including use of parametric, generation of Bill of Material, assemblies, sub-assemblies etc
• Advanced Civil 3D skills are essential including creation of a federated model using Civil 3D Links, creating/working with Civil 3D Worksets and professional using of shared coordinates.
• Proficient in a range of BIM Authoring, Scripting, Design Review, Coordination, Simulations and Collaboration Platforms:
  • Essentials: (Autocad,Microstation,Civil3D, Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD).
  • Preferable: (ProjectWise, Bluebeam Studio, Autodesk Inventor professional, Dynamo). 
• Roads & Highways Project Experience is required.
• Knowledge of BIM codes and Standards (ISO19650, PAS1192-2, BS1192).
• Knowledge of General BIM Model requirements (i.e., LOD, Naming convention, parametric modeling, etc.)
