Caregiver – Portland, OR 97217

A family in Portland, OR 97217 is seeking a dependable, compassionate caregiver to provide part-time support for a 77-year-old gentleman. He lives in a comfortable home environment with a roommate and uses a walker for mobility. This position is ideal for a patient caregiver looking for steady, part-time daytime hours to assist with transportation, light household tasks, and companionship.

Schedule:

• 2 days per week (Preferred: Tuesdays and Fridays)
• Late morning to early afternoon: ~10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (3 to 4 hours per visit)
• Days may swap or an extra day may be added if the Care recipient has an appointment on a non-Tu/Fri (with advance notice)
• Start Date: Flexible

Responsibilities:

• Provide transportation and accompaniment to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and local errands (haircuts, healthcare visits, etc.)
• Assist with mobility and safe transfers in/out of the vehicle (care recipient uses a walker)
• Light housekeeping and general tidying around the home
• Prepare simple meals and provide gentle encouragement around healthy choices (diabetic-friendly/reducing sugar intake)
• Assist with basic, occasional tech support (e.g., logging into a computer or simple troubleshooting)

Requirements:

• Direct experience with senior caregiving and mobility support
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
• Patient, dependable, and supportive communication style

Preferred:

• Tagalog-speaking ability is a plus! (Care recipient speaks English fluently, but enjoys conversing in Tagalog as well)

Compensation:

• $22 - $24 per hour
