Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a Card & Payment Operations Head for one of our partners, a leading Digital Bank!

THE ROLE

You make sure the money moves and the numbers add up. Every card issued, every payment processed, every remittance, settlement, dispute, and chargeback runs through the operation you lead, and one mistake here is one a customer feels immediately. You bring the experience to run it at scale, hold internal teams and vendors to the standard, and keep every transaction aligned with card scheme rules and regulatory obligations. In a bank built for everyday money, you own the machinery that must work every single time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Oversee card operations, including card issuance, settlements, lifecycle management, and customer request fulfilment
• Manage payment operations, including transaction processing, remittances, exception handling, reconciliation, settlements, and payment recovery
• Supervise and support card and payment operations, ensuring internal teams and vendors adhere to SLAs, procedures, and quality standards
• Monitor operational performance, investigate root causes of recurring issues, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with card scheme rules, payment network requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal controls
• Review and approve escalated operational cases, including high-risk, fraud-related, or customer-impacting incidents
• Coordinate with technology, fraud, compliance, and external partners to resolve operational issues and support service delivery
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational reporting to enhance efficiency and customer experience
• Manage and develop the L1 Operations team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 12+ years in card and payment operations within a banking background
• Strong experience in payments, remittances, and transfers
• Strong knowledge of card scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, EBC)
• Hands-on experience with settlements, with strong operational risk awareness and a control mindset
• Experience managing chargeback and dispute resolution processes
• Familiarity with core banking and card management systems
