This role holds purchasing responsibility for AVIRE's US operations and is the single point of accountability for material availability and supplier performance at both US locations: Sussex, Wisconsin and Marlboro, New Jersey. The Operational Buyer-Planner is based in Sussex, WI, reports to the Purchasing Manager, US, and executes within global commodity and Material Group strategies. Travel between and on-site support of both locations may be expected as business needs require.  

What you will do: 

  • Own day-to-day purchasing execution for both US sites (Sussex, WI and Marlboro, NJ), including requisition conversion, purchase order placement, order confirmation, expediting, and delivery follow-up.  

  • Consolidate demand and leverage shared suppliers across Sussex, WI and Marlboro, NJ, and manage inter-site transfers and stock balancing between the two US locations.  

  • Partner with production, engineering, quality, service, and warehouse teams at each US site to align supply plans to site-specific build schedules, priorities, and customer commitments.  

  • Manage assigned suppliers and act as the primary owner of supplier performance, cost, quality, and continuity.  

  • Utilize and update Material Group / Commodity strategies aligned with global supply chain and manufacturing objectives.  

  • Plan, procure, and ensure uninterrupted material availability for production and service operations through short and longterm MRP.  

  • Maintain and optimize D365 planning parameters and master data to ensure accurate forecasting, inventory levels, and data integrity across BOMs and material masters.  

  • Monitor supply risks, capacity constraints, and obsolescence, and raise issues to enable mitigation plans to protect production and service continuity.  

  • Understand total landed cost for assigned commodities, including price, logistics, duties, and inventory carrying costs, and drive costreduction initiatives.  

  • Prepare, analyze, and act on operational and planning reports including inventory health, backorders, pricing, and supplier performance.  

  • Administer and monitor contracts, NDAs, and framework agreements ongoing and as part of vendor onboarding.  

  • Coordinate logistics activities with internal teams and suppliers to ensure ontime delivery and resolution of shipment deviations.  

  • Resolve nonconforming materials (NCR), supplier complaints, and corrective actions in cooperation with Quality and crossfunctional teams.  

  • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and payment deviations.  

  • Notify of EndofLife (EOL) and EndofSupport (EOS) strategies and execute on lasttime buys.  

  • Raise escalations and support crossfunctional stakeholders without direct reporting authority.  

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and apply structured problemsolving methodologies to improve processes and outcomes.  

  • Provide operational backup, support inventory counts, and ensure business continuity during absences.

Job Skills 

  • Sufficient material availability, purchasing execution, and supplier performance for both US locations: Sussex, WI and Marlboro, NJ   

  • Sufficient material for smooth production and consumables  

  • Deliver on purchasing requests from other departments  

  • Proper tendering / sourcing process  

  • Accuracy of data in the MRP system  

  • Communication with suppliers  

  • Understanding and execution of framework agreements and agreed terms and conditions  

  • Optimization of inventory levels  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered  

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or material planning within a manufacturing environment.  

  • Understanding of material requirements planning (MRP), inventory optimization, and production support in short and longterm horizons.  

  • User-level knowledge of PC use and MS Office suite, Excel expert, preferred MRP Dynamics 365  

  • Experience in purchasing and logistics 

  • Organizational, communication, and negotiation skills  

  • Precision, systematic and analytical approach, ability to follow tasks through to completion
