Role:

As an experienced Procurement Buyer, your role is to be responsible for executing the day-today procurement activities that support manufacturing operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of materials, components, and services. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production continuity by managing supplier orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and resolving supply issues.

Working closely with the Sourcing Specialist and cross functional teams, the Buyer ensures that materials and outsourced assemblies are available to meet production plans, while maintaining quality, cost, and inventory targets in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and outsourced assemblies in line with production schedules
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgements, delivery dates, and shipment details
  • Expedite or defer orders as needed to align with changing demand and production priorities
  • Monitor supplier performance on delivery and responsiveness, and escalate issues when required
  • Collaborate with planning, production, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy
  • Support onboarding of new suppliers and contract manufacturers by setting up purchasing and transactional processes
  • Track and resolve supply issues, including shortages, delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies
  • Support cost control initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience purchasing direct materials or managing suppliers in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with outsourced assemblies or contract manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and international purchasing
