A Business Process Analyst II career opportunity is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Transportation & Public Works (TPW) Department. This position is part of the Business Support Division and contributes to a collaborative team responsible for asset management, field operations, work orders, capital project delivery, financial tracking, and system optimization.
The Business Process Analyst II tracks and oversees departmental projects related to the VUEWorks Work Order System and other business process initiatives. This role performs comprehensive business analysis, supports application functionality, manages user access, ensures data integrity across multiple systems, and assists in software configuration. The analyst serves as a technical liaison between the department, IT, external vendors, and system users to promote efficient utilization and continuous improvement of departmental applications. Additional responsibilities include providing training and managing the department’s training system, developing and maintaining process documentation, conducting upgrade testing, and writing reports within VUEWorks.This position supports a large, diverse user base of approximately 400 users across active projects, including a mobile field workforce, and plays a key role in ensuring system reliability, usability, and scalability across the TPW department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Geography, Geographic Information Systems)
- Four (4) years of business experience and business analysis experience
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience as a user in ESRI Suite software (ArcPro and ArcGIS Online applications) including software administration and training
- Experience maintaining large utility datasets in the stormwater, water/sewer, or energy sectors
- Experience utilizing engineering drawings or plans and maintaining capital programming and utility fee data in GIS
- Experience in software administration with a large end-user base
The Business Process Analyst II job responsibilities include:
- Serve as a technical liaison between TPW staff, IT, and system users to promote effective use of the work order system
- Develop and deliver user training and maintain training systems
- Update process documentation and conduct system upgrade testing
- Provide training to end-users on GIS and software applications and developing training documentation
- Build and maintain VUEWorks reports while supporting a large, diverse user base of more than 400 users
- Perform quality assurance and controls for data integrity
- Ability to develop business processes independently using best practices
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations
