Role Overview:
We are looking for a sharp, structured problem-solver to join the Business Assurance team for the Merchant Payments business. This team acts as the internal consulting, audit, and business-assurance arm of the merchant payments business — independently reviewing the commercial logic, cost/P&L impact, compliance, and operational soundness of initiatives across the business, and driving high-value improvement projects.
You will work on a rotating portfolio of diagnostic reviews and value-creation projects: think of it as running mini-consulting engagements inside the business, one after another. This is a high-ownership, high-exposure role for someone early in their career who wants to see the full breadth of a large fintech business and influence senior decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Assurance & Diagnostic Reviews
Independently review the business logic, assumptions, and expected impact of proposed and in-flight projectsAssess the cost and P&L impact of initiatives and pressure-test whether the economics justify the investment, acting as an objective "checker"
2. Process, Structure & Compliance Reviews
Run assurance checks on processes and structures, identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actionsTrack whether recommendations are implemented and whether they deliver the intended effect
3. Project Delivery & Insight
Own end-to-end delivery of assigned review/improvement projects — scoping, data gathering, analysis, synthesis, and recommendationsStructure ambiguous problems into clear workplans with minimal supervisionProduce crisp, executive-ready outputs (decks, memos, dashboards) that drive decisions
4. Stakeholder Management
Partner with Business, Product, Operations, Compliance, and Tech teams to gather inputs and socialize findings

Strong analytical and financial acumen — comfortable with P&L logic, unit economics, and building models from scratchStructured problem-solving ability and comfort operating in ambiguity with a rotating set of problem typesExcellent communication and executive presentation skills
Skills & Competencies:
Advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of SQL and/or Python preferred for handling large datasetsAbility to independently scope and run analytical projects end-to-endHigh ownership, intellectual honesty, and the maturity to deliver objective findings to senior stakeholdersExposure to payments, lending, or fintech businesses is an advantage
