BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

• Create a relaxed destination – Responsible for setting the example of an “ideal” retail associate through sense of style, modeling guest interaction, problem solving with guests, clienteling, and overall guest service. 
• Set the course – Is the “go to” sales representative for repeat guests as well as internal sales associates.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

• Demonstrates excellence in all areas of sales, merchandising and customer care standards. 
• Achieves or exceeds all personal sales and productivity goal’s while following all loss prevention policies and procedures.  Consistently top seller at assigned location.
• Provides prompt, respectful, and attentive services to guests and uses dynamic communication skills to build and maintain guest relationships. Demonstrates genuine selling skills daily and models these behaviors for new staff to learn from.
• Recognized as an exemplary and skilled salesperson by peers as well as leaders and guests.
• Consistently achieves the highest level of sales including dollar per transaction (DPT) and units per transitions (UPT), as well as sales per hour, etc. Effectively communicates in a professional manner in all interactions with others.
• Embraces work assignments to maintain an environment for achieving maximum sales.
• Assesses the needs of guests by asking open-ended questions and provide the appropriate level of service and expertise using the answers to those questions.
• Determines what guest likes, dislikes, color preferences, and attitude to best meet and exceed their shopping needs through exceptional communication.
• Consistently recommends, selects, and helps locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires.
• Applies product knowledge to promote and sell.
• Embraces brand direction by providing product knowledge and fashion direction with guests daily.
• Maintains current knowledge of tommybahama.com, marketing programs, images, and media plans.
• Prepares fitting rooms for guests; keeps fitting rooms clean and free of merchandise when not in use, escorts guests to the fitting room and neatly presents guest’s selected merchandise in the fitting room, etc.
• Provides ongoing guest service while the guest is trying on merchandise (e.g. fit, fashion and wardrobing advice, suggest add-ons, promptly remove unwanted items from the fitting room for the guest, etc.)
• Proactively seeks opportunities to up sell and add-on additional merchandise, further enhancing the guest’s shopping experience.
• Anticipates and overcomes guest objections to purchasing merchandise.
• Accurately and efficiently facilitates guest purchase and return transactions.
• Maintains proper banking and media accountabilities at POS while following all “Banking” and “Cash Wrap” policies and procedures.
• Captures and/or verifies guest contact information in GRM database when appropriate.
• Watches for and recognizes loss prevention situations and knows how to prevent and handle these situations using outstanding guest service and “Loss Prevention” policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for team members and guests.
• Follows Retail Operations policies and procedures.
• Actively participates in all store-related meetings and trainings and applies learned skills on the job.
• Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
• Participates in executing visual merchandising philosophies, cleaning, and upkeep of physical store at the direction of store management.  Assisting guests should always come first.
• Performs other duties that may be required from time to time.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR ISLAND LIFE

• All requirements for Sales Associate PLUS
  • 1 year sales associate experience with Tommy Bahama demonstrating consistent and above average sales performance.
  • No performance write ups in at least 12 months.
  • Must be in the Top 5% of sales.
  • Must have sold a minimum of $250k during a fiscal year.
• Basic math skills
• Cash handling/transaction skills

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently 
• Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently
• Climbing ladders – occasionally
• Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
