·         Collaborate with account handlers to develop appropriate solutions tailored to clients’ needs.

·         Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on company systems, including but not limited to contract/wording queries, reinsurer non-concurrencies, marketing lists.

·         Follow compliance procedures, including securing necessary approvals and maintaining client files (on shared drive and DMS).

·         Build and maintain relationships with reinsurers and internal stakeholders.

·         Stay informed about construction industry trends and developments to enhance offerings.

·         Actively participate in personal development and adhere to regulatory requirements / training.

The Role

The Senior Binder Claims Handler will be responsible for the effective oversight, management and processing of claims arising across the binder and delegated authority.

The role will provide senior-level technical and operational support across the claims function, ensuring claims are handled accurately, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements, delegated authorities, insurer expectations and applicable regulatory standards.

Working closely with brokers, coverholders, insurers, TPAs and internal operational teams, the role will take ownership of more complex claims matters while helping to strengthen controls, improve data quality and develop scalable and consistent claims processes.

What will you be doing?

• Review and oversee claims bordereaux received from coverholders, TPAs and other delegated parties.
• Validate claims data for accuracy, completeness and consistency before onward reporting or system processing.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, missing information and reconciliation issues.
• Monitor the timely receipt and processing of claims bordereaux.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to improve the quality and consistency of binder claims data.
• Support the reconciliation of claims data between bordereaux, internal systems, insurer records and financial information.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong experience within insurance claims, ideally within the London Market.
• Experience working with binder, delegated authority or coverholder business.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end claims lifecycle.
• Experience reviewing and managing claims bordereaux.
• Strong understanding of claims controls, authorities and referral processes.
• Experience of CLASS ECF, IMR, LORS, and A&S.
• Good interpersonal skills dealing with brokers and clients and the ability build good relationships with internal stakeholders (i.e.IBA)
• Good communication skills
• Experience with OpenTWINS, GBX or other similar broking systems
