Adventist HealthCare's Outpatient Orthopedic Practice seeks to hire an experienced Billing Specialist for our Rockville, MD location who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Billing Specialist you will:
• Demonstrates excellent patient service skills, assists in problem resolution both internal and external.
• Demonstrates world class exceptional customer service and set example of correct phone etiquette.
• Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Communicates to management when issues arise.
• Demonstrates an ability to differentiate between self- empowered trouble shooting issues or escalating issues to management.
• Assist with training of new team members.
• Independently problem solves and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• This position is expected to perform all areas of initial billing, secondary billing, and payer audit follow-up for government and non-government claims. 
• Must work with other departments to facilitate the meeting of both departmental and facility goals and objectives.
• Has an extensive knowledge of billing requirements mandated by payers and / or governmental regulations. This position will perform any and all related job duties as assigned.
• Prepares Billing Reconciliation.
• Communicates to leadership all issues regarding errors and changes in electronic billing processes ensuring that all immediate resolutions are provided.
• Reviews billing data to ensure accurate submissions of electronic and paper claims.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, assists in problem resolution both internal and external.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:
• High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
• Billing certification or minimum of 2 years’ experience required in a hospital or doctor’s office.

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours per Week: 40 Hours

Typical Daily Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00AM- 4:30PM

Shift Type: Day Shift

Pay Range:

$20.07 - $26.42

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
