Job Details:

The Behavioral Health Specialist provides early, coordinated behavioral health and educational support to youth and families, connecting them with help before issues reach crisis levels or become repeating crises. This role combines prevention-focused behavioral health and social needs screening with resource coordination for families in the community, and educational liaison and school re-integration support for patients receiving inpatient or day treatment care. Through both functions, the Behavioral Health Specialist works to alleviate the long-term effects of traumatic events, improve behavioral health outcomes for children and adolescents, and minimize the academic and social disruption that treatment can cause. The role requires close collaboration with families, referral sources, treatment teams, and local school district personnel.

Required Qualifications

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Special Education, or a related field required

Experience:
• Experience with IEP/504 plan processes and special education accommodations preferred.
• Experience in crisis intervention or trauma informed care preferred

Department Specific Job Details:

• full time, 40 hours
• Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• seasonal position, off during summer month, prorated PTO
• serving the Day Treatment program at the south campus hospital
