About the role of the Banquets Chef

The Banquets Chef will oversee all culinary operations related to banquet and catered events, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation across all functions. This role is responsible for executing large-scale events, from intimate gatherings to high-volume functions, while maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence, creativity, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive banquet experience, and the ability to deliver memorable dining experiences in a fast-paced luxury environment.

What you will do:

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of banquet menus for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and special functions, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Oversee all banquet kitchen operations, including food production, staffing coordination, and event execution, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and culinary excellence.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop banquet culinary team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Manage food and labor costs, inventory, and waste reduction initiatives to maximize profitability and operational efficiency without compromising quality.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations while delivering memorable dining experiences for guests across all banquet and catering events.

What you bring:

• Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication within a bilingual team and with guests, clients, and event planners.
• Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing banquet kitchen operations, including large-scale event execution, food cost control, labor management, and operational efficiency.
• Proven experience as a Banquets Chef, or similar leadership role in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-volume catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of banquet production, menu planning, buffet presentations, plated service, and special event execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead culinary teams in fast-paced, high-volume operations while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• At least 5+ years of experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or upscale hospitality environment where excellence in service and guest satisfaction is a priority.
• Experience with BirchStreet or similar purchasing and inventory management systems is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and consistently deliver exceptional results.
• Proven ability to work proficiently with hotel systems while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and ensuring flawless event execution.
