Who We Look For
We are a fin-tech start-up with a successful suite of products, now ready to build the next big thing. You must thrive working on open-ended problems across a range of disciplines; we are a start-up where our engineers do much more than just pick up JIRA tickets. A typical week may include debugging python, deploying infrastructure changes, talking to product early-adopters, and strategic planning with the team leads. Responsibilities
Working with product managers, researchers, and other engineers to define cloud-native backend systems and project requirements.
Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services with a strong focus on cloud architecture.
Writing clean, well-tested, and production-ready Python code (with opportunities to use Go or Rust where appropriate).
Deploying and operating production systems on AWS with an emphasis on reliability, security, and performance.
Using Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources.
Requirements
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Independent and self-driven learner with a strong interest in containerised backend engineering.
Strong Python experience
Experience with Cloud-Native system design and hosting
Experience with debugging via observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Loki.
Desirables
Experience or interest in Go and/or Rust.
Experience with graph databases or knowledge graphs (e.g. Neptune, Neo4j, or graph modelling on Postgres).
