As an Australian Private Client Services Manager specializing in Self-Managed Super Funds, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through complex tax regulations and optimizing their tax positions. Within our Tax practice, you will focus on validating compliance with tax laws, analyzing financial data, preparing tax returns, and assisting businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimizing risks of non-compliance.

In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will take ownership of projects, confirming their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion. Responsibilities

- Leading tax compliance workstreams and managing client expectations effectively
- Guiding teams in strategic planning and execution of tax-related initiatives
- Utilizing technical proficiency in tax accounting and corporate tax planning to optimize client tax positions
- Reviewing and analyzing financial data to prepare and file accurate tax returns
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients to identify and address tax compliance challenges
- Developing and overseeing the deployment of scalable tax strategies and solutions
- Promoting the use of innovative technologies and leading practices across tax compliance teams
- Validating compliance with tax laws and regulations to minimize risks of non-compliance
- Identifying opportunities for optimizing tax utilization and improving business performance

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree in the following field of study: Accounting or Master's in Commerce
- At least 6 + years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required

About the role

This is a Manager role within our APAC PC SMSF division and is accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery, quality and performance of SMSF compliance services.

The role carries responsibility for a significant portfolio of SMSF clients, ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in line with consistently high technical and professional standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee and review the preparation and administration of SMSF compliance deliverables, including financial statements, tax returns, activity statements, and associated compliance documentation, across a defined client portfolio;
• Ensuring all technical, legislative and regulatory requirements are met prior to AU Manager review;
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing audit queries and resolutions efficiently;
• Provide SMSF consulting advice to stakeholders as required;
• Lead workflow planning, resource allocation and WIP management to achieve lodgement deadlines and service level expectations.
• Build and maintain strong Client relationships through proactive communication, sound judgement, and practical, value‑adding advice.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing SMSF team, fostering technical capability, accountability and engagement.
• Identify and support process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and overall profitability.
• Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities to broaden and deepen Client service offerings.

Desirable:

Professional certifications such as CPA or SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA) will be highly regarded.

You will bring:

• A Masters degree in accounting, finance or a related field;
• Significant experience within a professional accounting environment with deep exposure to the Australian SMSF sector.
• Strong technical expertise across SMSF compliance, tax, and superannuation legislation.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing complex compliance work and managing sizeable Client portfolios.
• Proven capability to lead, mentor and develop team members in a professional services setting.
• High‑level written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound professional judgment.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and workflow management capability.
• Confidence in working collaboratively with onshore teams and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with SMSF and accounting systems, with exposure to Class considered advantageous.
