Dell Mesical School is seeking nan Associate Program Manager for the Enterprise Project Management Office.
Purpose
At The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, we are building a world-class academic medical center, and the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) plays a critical role in driving the strategic transformation of our institution. We are seeking a motivated Associate Project Manager who wants to build a career in project management while directly contributing to our five-year strategic plan, Health Starts Here.
You'll own the full lifecycle of projects independently, while supporting our Project Managers on cross-functional initiatives that span Workforce, Facilities, Integrated Clinical Practice, Research, Education, Finance, and Technology. You'll work closely with a talented team of project managers, project coordinators, and executive leaders, gaining hands-on exposure across the full breadth of the institution's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
Manages Full Lifecycle of Assigned Projects
- Defines scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics for assigned projects
- Develops and maintains project plans, schedules, and resource assignments
- Tracks progress, flags risks and issues early, and adjusts plans as needed to meet deadlines
- Facilitates project meetings and communicates status updates, including agendas, logistics, and follow-up
- Closes out projects with documentation and lessons learned
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Works with administrative, operational, and clinical stakeholders
- Serves as a point of contact for stakeholders on assigned projects, communicating status updates clearly to sponsors and team members
- Manages stakeholder expectations and engagement on assigned projects
- Escalates issues and conflicts to senior project managers or leadership as appropriate
- Builds collaborative working relationships across departments, including close coordination with the Project Coordinator on communications and administrative needs
Project Documentation and Reporting
- Maintains project charters, status reports, and risk logs
- Contributes to executive summaries and dashboards or leadership
- Tracks decisions, changes, and approvals
- Ensures documentation meets compliance and audit standards
Supports Cross-Functional and Strategic Initiatives
- Partners with Project Managers on components of cross-functional, strategic initiatives
- Assists with change management and communication activities for cross-functional project
- Contributes to stakeholder readiness and adoption efforts as assigned
- Steps in on portfolio work as assigned, based on organizational need
- Helps prepare project plans, agendas, schedules, and documentation for cross-functional and strategic initiatives
Budget and Resource Tracking
- Tracks budgets and expenditures for assigned projects
- Coordinates with finance and procurement teams as needed
- Assists with vendor coordination and invoice reconciliation
Professional Development and Process Improvement
- Participates in EPMO process improvement initiatives
- Seeks mentorship and feedback from senior project managers
- Supports standardization of templates, tools, and workflows
- Takes on increased project ownership and complexity over time

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field, with 1 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or operations.
Relevant education or experience may be substituted as appropriate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience supporting or managing projects in a healthcare, academic, or enterprise setting. Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana). Familiarity with healthcare operations or regulatory environments.

Salary Range
$60,000 + depending on qualifications
