The Associate Director, Human Resources serves as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supporting business leaders and employees across Market Access and Medical Affairs. Reporting to the Vice President, Talent & Organization Effectiveness, this role is responsible for developing and executing people strategies that enable business objectives, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and enhance employee performance and engagement. 

The Associate Director provides proactive consultation and guidance to leaders across a broad range of human resources disciplines, including talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership coaching, employee engagement, organizational design, performance management, employee relations, talent acquisition, and change management. 

This role requires an experienced HR professional who can independently manage complex employee matters while serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders. Success in this position requires strong business acumen, excellent judgment, and the ability to influence and guide leaders through organizational and people-related decisions. 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner to assigned client groups, providing strategic consultation and day-to-day guidance to leaders and employees regarding talent, organizational, and employee-related matters. 

  • Partner with leadership teams to develop and execute workforce plans that align talent needs with business objectives, including organizational design, succession planning, talent movement, and capability building. 

  • Coach leaders on leadership effectiveness, performance management, employee relations, team dynamics, change management, and organizational development. 

  • Facilitate talent management processes including succession planning, talent reviews, development planning, and identification of high-potential talent. 

  • Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives, utilizing employee feedback, organizational data, and business insights to recommend and implement solutions. 

  • Manage complex employee relations issues including investigations, performance concerns, corrective action, accommodations, leave management, and conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. 

  • Lead organizational effectiveness initiatives including change management efforts and team effectiveness interventions. 

  • Analyze workforce and talent data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations that support informed business decisions. 

  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve the quality of services for own team/ area as well as providing input on policies and programs impacting across the company. 

  • Manage HR projects/ teams and ongoing operations within own area in alignment with overall HR and business goals. 

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment between multiple teams; Gain credibility establishing trusted relationships with senior leaders and by understanding the business and its people needs. 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree (HR preferred) 

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner supporting senior leaders 

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred 

  • Demonstrated experience in talent management, organizational development, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and change management. 

  • Strong consulting, coaching, influencing, and relationship-management skills. 

  • Proven ability to build credibility and trusted partnerships across all levels of an organization. 

  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment regulations with demonstrated ability to consistently and appropriately apply policy guidance. 

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance employee needs, business objectives, and organizational risk. 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 

  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and handle highly confidential information with discretion. 

  • Proven experience in project management driving complex initiatives in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations with demonstrated ability to apply legal and business judgment to complex employee matters. 

  • Expected business travel less than 10% 

  • Hybrid Work Schedule consists of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Nutley, NJ HQ and Mondays and Fridays are Work From Home Days.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The annual base salary range for the Associate Director, Human Resources (Medical Affairs & Market Access) is from :$160,700-$210,900

Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
