WREF is the global team that is responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution and operations of GSK’s real estate portfolio. This includes defining the organization’s real estate and workplace experience strategy across our network of over manufacturing, R&D and office facilities; as well as leveraging our network of vendor partners to ensure delivery facility management and capital project services to GSK’s global office portfolio.
The role is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of capital and facilities-related projects across the Asia Pacific - ensuring project delivery on time, within budget, while meeting GSK safety, quality, governance, and regulatory standards. The role also has accountability for project safety, compliance, and risk management for all capital works delivered by WREF It requires strong technical & engineering expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing System. Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills are essential to manage delivery partners, drive continuous improvement, and deliver strategic business objectives. Subject matter expertise in engineering and technical operations across APAC sites, ensuring safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient workplace operations while partnering with stakeholders and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Delivery, Reporting and Governance:
Accountable for the full lifecycle delivery of capital and engineering projects across APAC sites, from initiation through handover. This includes project scope of work, specifications, schematics, managing approvals, schedule and performance management, financial and operational recovery planning, risk assessment & mitigation, governance & reporting, and effective transition to operations. - Benefits Realization & Performance Management:
Ensure projects deliver agreed business benefits by tracking performance against defined scope of work, specifications, KPIs and aligning outcomes with site, regional, and corporate objectives. Oversee service partner performance against contractual KPIs and address performance gaps as required. - Governance, Assurance & Compliance:
Conduct assurance reviews and stage-gate assessments to ensure all projects meet GSK quality, safety, compliance, and governance standards. Ensure alignment with country regulations, GSK policies, standards, SOPs, and site-specific requirements. - Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis: Ensure adverse events related to project delivery are thoroughly investigated, with appropriate corrective and preventative actions implemented. Stop work and escalate issues where required. Drive Root Cause Analysis when contractual deliverables, GSK standards, or legal requirements are not met, in collaboration with WREF Ops, EHS, and other stakeholders.
- Project Planning & Technical Development:
Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to define user requirements, scope, deliverables, resources, work plans, budgets, and timelines. Develop project options and preferred schemes in collaboration with the RE and Capital Project Director, Occupancy/Space Planning, Engineering/Operations Leads, and design consultants. - Delivery & Procurement Strategy:
Work closely with the Asia Pacific WREF Head and WREF Regional Leads to determine optimal project delivery and procurement strategies, including value engineering aligned with risk and compliance requirements. - Stakeholder Engagement & Governance Forums:
Serve as a key liaison between GSK stakeholders, WREF Asia Pacific, site teams, Service Partners, and EHS. Actively participate in site and regional governance meetings, operational forums, and weekly tiered meetings as required. - Audit Readiness & Continuous Improvement:
Support regional audit readiness and compliance reviews. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and safety performance by capturing lessons learned, sharing best practices through Communities of Practice, and leveraging internal and external benchmarks. - Support technical engineering operations across sites, ensuring statutory compliance, asset reliability, engineering governance, and adherence to GSK standards and local regulations.
- Provide technical leadership for engineering works by approving and prioritizing maintenance activities, supporting capital projects, managing engineering changes, and driving continuous improvement in automation, mechanical systems, and infrastructure.
Why You?
- Total 16+ years of experience with proven ability to manage multiple, big and small capital projects across multiple commercial/GCC (Global Capability Centre) environment, including planning, execution, and delivery, using established frameworks such as Project Management Framework (PMF).
- Displays strong technical expertise in facilities, project management, risk management and compliance requirements.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and external contract partners, to deliver appropriate site project investment in agreement with established contracts.
- Thorough understanding of statutory legislation responsibilities in a technically complex environment.
- Acts as a role model for applying standards to ensure compliance.
- Financially literate, able to analyze budget performance, project cash flow forecasts for project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of EHS and construction safety.
- Effectively using of technology including project management software and artificial intelligence agents
- Knowledge on Building Services & Building Engineering
