 Cyber Security  

Our products, platforms and technologies are constantly evolving that’s why keeping Sky safe from cyber-attacks is one of our top priorities. Our Cyber Security team helps the business grow while protecting our customers, colleagues and partners from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Our team includes Cyber Fusion Centre, Security Services, Risk and Compliance, Programme Delivery and Business Security, and we work across the UK, Italy and Germany. Join us and you’ll get involved in tackling challenges and future threats in an ever-changing cyber landscape.  

What you’ll do –  

• Show proficiency in managing your workload independently and familiarise yourself with industry business practices and procedures while taking ownership of your development pathway alongside your line manager and colleagues.  
• Work towards achieving a defined set of objectives identified between yourself and your line manager, tailoring to your goals and completing a pentesting certification.   
• Conduct penetration test engagements for both applications and complex infrastructure setups, as well as retests, to gain a deep understanding of how we conduct cyber security assessments across a wide range of systems and services here at Sky.   
• Use AI-assisted tools to support research, vulnerability analysis and reporting while applying appropriate validation and professional judgement. Develop an understanding of the security risks associated with AI and LLM-based applications, and contribute to the assessment of these technologies during security testing.  
• Independently attend meetings where infrastructure and application scopes are defined, document the respective engagement terms, conduct and support cyber security assessments. This includes appropriately documenting and sharing all findings.   
• Work with various areas of the business to scope projects and advise teams on remediation of identified vulnerabilities.   
• Gain a good understanding of how to conduct advanced infrastructure and advanced web application penetration tests. 
• Develop an understanding of modern security testing methodologies covering applications, infrastructure, mobile platforms and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled systems.  
• Conduct research into emerging technologies, security threats and testing methodologies, including the responsible use of AI-assisted tooling to improve the efficiency and quality of security testing.  

 What you’ll bring     

Essential Criteria –   

• A passion for cyber security and a positive outlook and approach to the work we do. 
• Practical experience with penetration testing which can be substituted for a relevant degree or equivalent qualification or completion of the Sky Cyber Graduate Scheme. 
• A proven and demonstrable interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application within cyber security, with an awareness of AI-assisted security tooling and the security considerations of AI-enabled applications. 
• Demonstrate curiosity and a continuous learning mindset, proactively exploring new technologies, attack techniques and security research to develop technical expertise.  
• Knowledge of common infrastructure and application pen test security tools.  
• Live the Sky Values and demonstrate enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.  
• Good time management and organisational skills to meet strict deadlines.  
• Be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.  
• Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate, share and support colleagues.  
• Ethical integrity to be trusted with confidential information.  

  Desirable skills and experience:   

• OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) 
• PNPT (Practical Network Penetration Tester)  
• CPTS (Certified Penetration Testing Specialist)  
• CREST CRT 
• Burp Suite Certified Practitioner (BSCP)  
• AI/ML or GenAI certification (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Google, SANS/GIAC or equivalent), or demonstrable practical experience using AI/LLMs to automate or enhance security testing.

 How you’ll work    

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are  2  days in the office per week.
