I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Associate Content Creator brings original, exclusive and creative videos to life, from idea to execution. They participate in every step of the creative process, from pitching, booking, filming, editing and delivering final assets to be programmed on PEOPLE’s social channels and app. They are responsible for creative ideas and working with celebrity talent. This person should have an obsession with social media and pop culture, a strong understanding of the type of content users want to consume on the platform, and a desire to make people swipe and share. They will also produce “article treatment” videos during breaking news situations and be responsible for monitoring, pitching and creating videos from red carpet events.
The Associate Content Creator will be the first eyes the social video team has on the news each day, so they will pitch, create and deliver newsworthy videos and cuts of exclusive PEOPLE interviews. They will assist the Senior Content Creator with pre-productions on major PEOPLE shoots, coming up with questions for talent and pitching fun, scroll-stopping social concepts. They must be able to shoot social-first videos and have solid video editing skills. They will also attend red carpet events to produce, film, edit and post compelling video content.
This role will require industry experience and the ability to join meetings and assist with guidance of other team members.

50% - Pitch and create compelling social videos
20% - Work closely with reporters, editors, social video producers, designers and the Video team
20% - Conduct interviews and produce talent
10% - Attend events on behalf of brand and capture content, and other duties as assigned
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of professional experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proven success in building and growing audiences for media sites and digital brands
• An understanding of social media with a focus on reaching Gen Z audiences
•Strong news judgement and the ability to be a jack of all PEOPLE verticals, assessing performance data and newsworthiness to guide decisions
• Proficiency editing videos in Adobe Premiere
• Expertise in TikToks and Reels
• A unique voice that fits and evolves the People brand, coupled with a passion for creating, dissecting and consuming all kinds of content
• A sharp eye when it comes to editing content thoroughly on tight deadlines
• Availability to attend live events for the People brand and capture content
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, experience working in various content management systems
% Travel Required (Approximate): 0 - 10%, or as assigned

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $67,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
