Position Description

The Associate/Associate Director, FICC Sales will be a crucial member of the CITIC CLSA FICC Flow Sales team to support the growth of our primary and secondary Asian bond distribution into the Southeast Asian fixed income investor accounts.  The person will work closely with the regional FICC coverage teams to bridge Singapore and major SE Asia investors for Asian fixed income products operating under our global 24/5 flow distribution team objective. 

The Associate/Associate Director is expected to proactively on-board new Asian bond trading accounts based in Southeast Asia ie the regional SE Asian Banks, domestic securities firms, regional Asset Managers, Insurance Co’s, pension & sovereign wealth funds.  Additionally, the Associate/Associate Director is expected to support the senior FICC Flow Sales based in Singapore on a day to day basis by covering client flow execution, primary deal pitching and resolving post trade issues with clients.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the role will be based on the progress made in onboarding new SE Asian trading accounts and also generating activities from both new and existing accounts through secondary execution and primary deal placement. 

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Develop new relationships to grow CITIC CLSA’s fixed income distribution from Singapore covering SE Asian investors across banks, asset managers, pension funds, lifers, private banks and hedge funds.

• Onboard new trading accounts to grow secondary trading volumes and work closely with the Hong Kong team on CLSA’s primary deal placements.

• Deliver target budget assigned by Head of Flow FICC Sales.

• Manage day-to-day client relationships and pricing inquiries between trading & clients.

• Backup coverage for Singapore FICC Sales.

• Work with COO team to clear post trade issues in relation to clients under coverage.

• Comply with applicable selling conduct, regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor or above degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Quantitative science or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of fixed income(credit) product experience – buyside applicants are welcome

• Attained all required regulatory qualifications to carry out necessary regulated activities.

• Good understanding of coverage for bonds and their life cycle

• Takes self-initiatives and highly motivated.

• A strong team player, with the ability to lead and direct resources within the team and outside of the team to achieve.

• Good interpersonal and communications skills.

• Good command of written and spoken English

• Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are preferred
