Job Description Summary

The Department of Psychology at Miami University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in Cognitive Neuroscience to begin Fall 2027. Candidate should have a strong research and publication record; a strong commitment to both graduate and undergraduate training; and the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in cognition/neuroscience, advise graduate and undergraduate students, and perform university and professional service.

Job Description

Engagement in both research and innovative teaching are highly valued in our department and university. Research interests should focus on examining neural mechanisms that underlie cognition and behavior, with particular interest in candidates whose work addresses health-related questions, including mental or neurological health, aging, stress, disease, health behaviors, or other factors influencing brain and behavioral functioning.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduate and graduate trainees with potential for external funding. Miami University has a modern Psychology building with state-of-the-art EEG, fNIRS, and animal research facilities. The Department of Psychology has an established graduate PhD program comprising areas in Brain, Cognitive, and Developmental Sciences; Social Psychology; and Clinical Psychology. There is a strong environment for collaboration with neuroscience researchers across these areas and across the university, including a new clinical sciences building, an interdisciplinary co-major and minor in Neuroscience, and a Center for Neuroscience and Behavior (miamioh.edu/neuro). 

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience or closely related field by date of appointment.
