Texas A&M University-Victoria seeks two full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Kinesiology, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The position is located at the Victoria Campus.

Qualifications: The College of Education and Health Professions at Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track position in Kinesiology. We seek an individual with an earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Performance, or a closely related field by December 2026. An ABD candidate may be considered, provided there is a clearly established completion date. Candidates should have evidence of strong teaching, research, and service and demonstrate an understanding of contemporary approaches to areas in kinesiology such as exercise physiology, physical activity, health and wellness, and/or human performance.

Successful candidates will:

· Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Kinesiology in traditional and online formats (4-course or equivalent teaching load in the fall and spring semesters);

· Teach courses appropriate to the candidate's expertise in areas such as, motor development and learning, adapted physical activity, fitness and wellness, exercise science, human performance, or related areas;

· Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement;

· Maintain an appropriate scholarly agenda consistent with expectations for a tenure-track faculty appointment; and

· Contribute to the college and university's mission through assigned service.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments and experience preparing future physical education teachers.

Additional preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

· Experience in adapted physical education or adapted physical activity;

· Knowledge of contemporary approaches to physical literacy, fitness education, motor skill development, and lifelong physical activity;

· Professional credentials or experience related to fitness, strength and conditioning, coaching, or health and wellness; and

· A commitment to developing collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, and other regional partners.

Setting: Texas A&M University-Victoria is the most recent addition to the Texas A&M University System. The University was founded in 1973 as part of the University of Houston System and was transferred to the Texas A&M University System during the 89th Texas Legislative Session. A&M-Victoria is the only four-year university in a 100-mile radius and is just 30 miles from the Texas Gulf Coast.
