Texas A&M University–Victoria seeks one full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Educational Leadership, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The position is located at the Victoria Campus.

Qualifications: The Department of Teacher Education at Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track position in Educational Leadership. We seek an individual with an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field by December 2026. An ABD candidate may be considered, provided there is a clearly established completion date. Candidates should have evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level and significant professional experience in PK–12 educational leadership and administration. Candidates should have a working knowledge of expectations for educator preparation, particularly those related to principal and superintendent preparation and certification. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate programs preparing educational leaders for positions in campus leadership, district-level administration, superintendency, and organizational leadership.

Successful candidates will:

· Teach graduate-level courses in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, and Organizational Leadership in traditional and online formats (4-course or equivalent teaching load in the fall and spring semesters);

· Teach and support coursework associated with Principal and Superintendent certification;

· Prepare aspiring educational leaders to successfully meet state certification standards and expectations;

· Supervise and support candidates completing leadership practicum, internship, and field-based experiences;

· Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement;

· Collaborate with school districts and other educational partners to ensure leadership programs remain responsive to the needs of schools and communities;

· Maintain an appropriate scholarly agenda consistent with expectations for a tenure-track faculty appointment; and

· Contribute to the department, college, and university's mission through assigned service.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments and substantial experience as a practicing educational leader.

Additional preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

· Experience as a PK–12 campus principal and/or district-level administrator;

· Experience as a superintendent or central-office administrator;

· Current or previous Texas Principal and/or Superintendent certification, or comparable administrative certification from another state;

· Knowledge of Texas Principal Standards, Superintendent Standards, and Texas Education Agency (TEA) educator certification requirements;

· Experience preparing and supporting candidates for state leadership certification examinations;

· Experience supervising principal or superintendent internships and field-based experiences;

· Expertise in areas such as instructional leadership, organizational leadership, school improvement, educational law and policy, human resource leadership, school finance, strategic planning, or community engagement;

· Experience with graduate program development, assessment, and continuous improvement; and

· A commitment to developing collaborative relationships with school districts, Education Service Centers, educational organizations, and community partners.

Setting: Texas A&M University-Victoria is the most recent addition to the Texas A&M University System. The University was founded in 1973 as part of the University of Houston System and was transferred to the Texas A&M University System during the 89th Texas Legislative Session. A&M-Victoria is the only four-year university in a 100-mile radius and is just 30 miles from the Texas Gulf Coast.
