Job Responsibilities

• Review and analyse new insurance applications for risk exposure and compliance with underwriting guidelines and risk management principles; Negotiate with reinsurers for reinsurance related matters

• Maintain a high quality of effective and pro-active communication with key sales representatives ensuring the smooth and correct flow of business; Provide training to sales representatives to enhance their underwriting knowledge; Provide industry leading service, premier service and expert technical advice

• Provide quality and professional response to enquiries from sales channels; Be the first port of call to resolve appeals and complaints relating to underwriting; Resolve escalated underwriting issues and appeals with flexible solutions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor Degree Holder with professional insurance qualifications such as FLMI, ACS, ALU or equivalent

• Minimum 6 years solid underwriting experience in life insurance with at least 2 years in a supervisory /managerial role

• Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 100%, with high net worth experience preferable

• Good integrity, quality-oriented, good interpersonal and communications skills

• A solutions thinker, strong analytical skills and independent

• Open minded, flexible, proactive and stress positive

• Good leadership and team building skills

• Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese & Mandarin)
