About the role:
As an Assistant Manager within RSM’s Business Advisory division, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial insights and advisory services to our diverse client base.
You will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing comprehensive reports, and ensuring accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will support the management and development of junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic client engagements while growing your leadership capabilities within a dynamic and supportive firm.
Review work papers and ensure appropriate evidence is documented
Applies knowledge of the business environment within which the client is operating and how the client is positioned in the industry;
Share knowledge, best practices and industry market trends to actively increase the overall knowledge of the team;
Communicate with manager and partners on work flow and matters relating to staff performance;
Review work of junior team members;
Ensure processing of information into the Firms systems has been properly recorded;
Prepare financial statements in accordance with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards; Identifies, research and resolve all complex accounting issues;
Analyse management accounting reports and provides advice to clients;
Review income tax returns for individuals, companies, super funds, partnerships and trusts; and
Deliver complex tax planning for clients

You are a driven and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in financial analysis and reporting. With proven experience in business advisory, you thrive in client-facing environments and are passionate about delivering strategic insights that support business growth. You bring leadership capability, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to mentoring junior team members.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
Completed CA or equivalent
DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
Essential
4-5 years’ experience in Professional Services
Strong Communication Skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Committed to continuing professional development
Desirable
Previous experience managing a team
