Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.00, 36.25 hours per week 
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits

We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our established finance team at our Blackpool HQ. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant studying towards CIMA or ACCA who wants to build hands-on experience across management accounts, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis. You’ll play an important role in supporting accurate month-end reporting, improving processes, and providing insight to the wider business. The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, along with bonus eligibility and study support.

As an Assistant Management Accountant at Tandem your focus will be on: 

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss reporting. 
• Analyse and investigate variances, providing clear commentary and insight. 
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. 
• Support the preparation and review of accruals and prepayments. 
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring records are accurate and up to date. 
• Produce management reports that provide meaningful financial analysis for the business. 
• Manage intercompany accounts and complete intercompany reconciliations. 
• Prepare journals for posting to the general ledger. 
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and business requests as required. 
• Take ownership of agreed activities and contribute to the achievement of business KPIs. 
• Support improvements to finance processes, systems, and reporting outputs.  

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

The successful candidate will bring a combination of finance experience, technical capability, and the personal qualities needed to succeed in a busy finance team. 

Essential experience and qualifications: 

• Studying towards CIMA or ACCA. 
• At least three years’ experience in a similar finance or management accounting role. 
• Experience working in a busy finance team environment. 
• Strong Excel skills, with confidence working with financial data, reconciliations, and reporting. 
• Good commercial awareness and the ability to interpret financial information.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work to deadlines. 
• The ability to analyse information, investigate issues, and solve problems.

• Able to take ownership of tasks and work independently, while knowing when to seek support or clarification. 
• Honest, reliable, and discreet when handling confidential information. 
• Self-motivated, proactive, and open to supporting improvements in finance processes.
