The Assistant Director will serve as the lead administrator of the Foote Fellows Honors Program. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders, the Assistant Director will work to strengthen this program, including cultivating community and identifying new ways to recruit, retain and support this elite group of students.

Core Job Functions:

• Serve as primary point person for the Foote Fellows Honors Program within the Office of Academic Enhancement (OAE).
• Collaborate with Cane Navigators, Transitional Advisors, and school and college administrators to ensure that schools and colleges are offering enhanced support, access, and programming for Foote Fellows.
• Expand this collaboration with school and college leadership to build cohesion and a community of shared ideas to bolster and strengthen the Foote Fellows program across the university.
• Work in conjunction with OAE’s Premier Scholar Initiatives unit to coordinate supplemental support for the broader Foote Fellows population, including offering one-on-one meetings and small group sessions.
• Promote the curricular freedom afforded by the Foote Fellows program to help students identify novel ways to connect their interests and goals in their degree plans.  
• Design and implement educational programs and events that enhance students’ experiences and develop community. This may include retreats, dinners, lectures, and workshops related to career development, studying abroad, prestigious awards and fellowships, and other academically, professionally, and personally enriching programs.
• Identify opportunities to develop and promote course offerings exclusive to – or prioritized for – Foote Fellows.
• Collaborate with the Office of Admissions on selecting and recruiting Foote Fellows
• Coordinate with units in student affairs and other areas across campus to support retention and facilitate connections to opportunities.
• Draft, edit, audit email, website, and social media communications about the Foote Fellows program, in conjunction with relevant offices on campus.
• Work with the OAE office manager and executive director to manage the Foote Fellow operational budget.
• Prepare and analyze data on Foote Fellow academic performance and engagement.
• Identify and promote compelling stories about the Foote Fellows program or within the Foote Fellow population when appropriate.
• Conduct research and benchmarking as needed, and prepare information that may help leadership make decisions about new initiatives and investments in the Foote Fellows program.
• Assist with events and programs within the OAE, including the OAE End of Year Celebration and other large-scale events and programs geared toward populations that may reach beyond the Foote Fellow population.
• Other duties as assigned by the executive director and/or Dean of Undergraduate Affairs.

 Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; master’s degree preferred

 Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required
• A relevant combination of experience and education may be considered.

• Strong written and oral communication sk9ills
• Strong organizational skills, and an ability to develop and maintain records
• Ability to research, analyze and effective summarize and present information
• Ability to prioritize, manage time and meet deadlines
• Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment
