We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Branch Manager to lead our Ashburton operation and help shape the next chapter of Good Work at Fulton Hogan. This is a broad leadership role with oversight across the branch’s Ashburton District Council Road Maintenance Contract, as well as a contracting and quarry operations, so you’ll be responsible for a variety of work that keeps the branch and the wider Canterbury region moving.

As the Ashburton Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for a team of 45 staff, where you will lead from the front with a low-ego, high-expectation approach. You’ll be trusted to drive performance, support your people and deliver effective, efficient and profitable outcomes across all divisions operating within the branch. It’s a role with real scope, real responsibility and real impact.

  • Lead the Ashburton Branch to deliver safe, efficient and profitable outcomes across all operating divisions.
  • Drive branch performance in line with regional strategy and long-term business objectives.
  • Build a strong, inclusive and accountable culture where ideas matter.
  • Lead and support people leaders and teams to achieve high standards in delivery, safety and customer outcomes.
  • Oversee the branches financial performance.
  • Strengthen relationships with clients, stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, grow and move the branch forward.
  • Ensure the branch is well positioned to deliver Good Work now and into the future.

  • Significant experience in a management role, ideally within infrastructure and construction or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to lead people and business performance across a complex operational environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability.
  • The ability to develop and deliver strategic actions aligned to regional and business goals.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to build positive relationships with customers, stakeholders and teams.
  • A focus on performance, progress and doing the right thing by your people
  • Tertiary qualifications such as a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent would be an advantage.
