The APAC Labor and Employee Relations Senior Specialist role will support the execution, implementation, and continuous improvement of the APAC Labor and Employee Relations strategy, operating model, and service delivery model under the direction of the APAC LER Regional Leader across all Danaher’s operating companies in the region in alignment Danaher’s Labor and Employment functional strategy.

The APAC region includes:  Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand. The LER COE – APAC Region is part of the global Danaher enterprise Labor & Employee Relations Center of Excellence.  

This role will help translate regional LER priorities into practical, consistent execution across operating companies, supporting business objectives, workforce planning priorities, risk mitigation, and organisational change activity.

The role will include hands-on case management and will provide domain expertise, support appropriate governance and escalation processes, and help build consistent labor and employee relations practices and capability across the region. The role will support the wider operating company HR teams across the region, ensuring that labor and employee relations practices are aligned and undertaken in accordance with applicable legislation and company policies and values.

The role will report to the APAC - Labor and Employee Relations Regional Leader and will be an on-site role based in either Singapore or Malaysia.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide pragmatic, legally informed advice on labor and employee relations matters: partnering with L&E Legal, HR colleagues and People Leaders to proactively manage risk, ensure compliance and consistency, follow established escalation frameworks, and resolve of workforce issues effectively.

• ER Casework and Advisory: manage a broad and varied employee relations caseload including routine, moderate, and select complex or sensitive matters. Provide clear, practical and legally informed advice to HR colleagues and business leaders while identifying risk, determining appropriate case strategy, and ensuring consistent and defensible outcomes. Conduct investigations where required and provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance to HR colleagues undertaking investigations to ensure thorough, consistent, and compliant investigation practices.

• Litigation: coordinate with Danaher L&E Legal and external counsel, drafting of separation agreements, and escalation of legal or reputational risk through designated frameworks.

• Organizational Change: project manage and support ER workstreams for restructures, reductions in workforce, operating model changes, and other transformation activity, ensuring matters are handled consistently, compliantly, and with commercially balanced outcomes.

• Capability and Advisory Support: provide coaching and practical support to HR colleagues and People Leaders, strengthening LR and ER capability and ensuring consistent standards of case management and outcome documentation.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• University degree in Employment Law, Human Resources, or another related field with significant experience operating at Senior Specialist Labor & Employee Relations level or equivalent, including demonstrable experience and responsibility in leading a variety of LER issues to conclusion including HR investigations; individual and group/collective employment separations; performance management and performance-improvement plans; disciplinary action; etc.

• Proven experience advising senior leaders on high-risk employee relations matters, including organizational change, restructures, employment litigation and settlement / separation agreements.

• Demonstrable experience working on employee relations matters across the APAC region and a strong working understanding of employment law frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge.

• Ability to operate with sound judgement, appropriate autonomy, and influence, including making practical recommendations on matters involving legal, labor relations, employee relations, reputational or business risk, while appropriately escalating risks through established frameworks.

• Experience partnering with business leaders, legal colleagues, and HR colleagues in a complex matrix environment, balancing legal compliance, business priorities, employee experience and consistent outcomes.

• Experience applying employee relations governance frameworks, analyzing LR and ER trends and supporting practical interventions and preventative action plans.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: 

• Ability to travel 20 – 30% (primarily within APAC region)
   

It would be a plus if you have:

• A Degree in Employment Law

• Fluency in languages in addition to English

• ER experience in China and / or India

• Experience in multinational companies, particularly within life sciences, manufacturing, or regulated industries
