Position Summary:

Instructors are hired (as needed) for a single semester to teach introductory (and occasionally upper-division) in-person courses in archaeology, cultural and biological anthropology, or geography. As positions become available, the chair will reach out to applicants directly.

Salary Range:

$46,000 - $48,000

Essential Job Duties:

Essential job duties vary depending on the course, but may include:

• Preparing lectures
• Creating assignments
• Holding office hours
• Grading course materials

Specific duties will be defined at the time of hire by the supervisor.

Supervision:

This position reports to the Department Chair of Sociology.

Conditions of Employment:

Pre-employment criminal background check (required for all new hires).

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in anthropology, geography or related field is required.
• Prior experience teaching at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. is preferred.
