Program Summary

Upon award, KBR will provide full-spectrum base operations and science support to the National Science Foundations, for the Antarctic Engineering and Science Support Contract (ASESC).  Locations will be CONUS, New Zealand, Chile and Antarctica. Our robust supply chain ensures on-time delivery of mission-critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The KBR team is strong with over 1,000 people, providing not only life support services such as science support, construction, water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR), lodging and dining facilities.

Job Summary

The Business Systems Director is responsible for the delivery of the program's financial reporting, earned value management data, cost engineering analysis, contracts and subcontract administration, business systems management, records and document control, and oversight of Information Technology and Communications (IT&C). The role ensures the program's commercial, financial, contractual, and information-management functions operate efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with contractual and company requirements. The position serves as a key advisor to Program Leadership while directing the systems, processes, and teams that support informed decision-making across the ASESC program.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the Business Systems Directorate, including financial reporting, earned value management, cost engineering, contracts, subcontracts, legal coordination, business systems administration, records management, and document control.
• Lead and develop functional managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure technical excellence, operational effectiveness, and continuous professional growth.
• Oversee production of accurate and timely financial reporting, earned value data, cost analysis, and program performance information to support leadership decision making and customer requirements.
• Manage budget planning processes, funds management activities, cost reporting, and financial controls in support of program execution.
• Direct contract administration, subcontract management, legal coordination, subcontractor oversight, and consent activities in accordance with contractual requirements and company policies.
• Provide oversight and governance for program business systems, task order management processes, and business-system configurations.
• Maintain ownership of the Management Information System (MIS) Portal and business applications, including Maximo, Costpoint, Power BI, and related business and financial systems.
• Direct knowledge management, records management, configuration management, and document control functions to ensure compliance, accessibility, and records integrity.
• Provide directorate-level oversight of Information Technology and Communications through the IT&C Manager and ensure alignment between business systems and technology capabilities.
• Establish, maintain, and improve business-system controls, contractual processes, financial procedures, and records-management policies.
• Identify financial, contractual, operational, and compliance risks and escalate significant issues to Program Leadership as appropriate.
• Manage directorate budgets, resources, staffing plans, succession planning activities, and workforce development initiatives.
• Support audits, assessments, reviews, and customer engagements to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational and operational objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Contract Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, finance, contracts, program controls, business systems, or related functions.
• Minimum eight (8) years of leadership experience managing complex business, financial, contractual, or program-support organizations.
• Experience supporting large government contracts, major programs, or federal services environments is required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for financial reporting, contract administration, business systems, and program support functions is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, earned value management systems (EVMS), cost engineering, contracts administration, subcontract management, business systems, and records management principles.
• Experience with Costpoint, Maximo, Power BI, earned value management systems, or similar enterprise platforms is preferred.
• Experience establishing and maintaining financial controls, business processes, and compliance programs.
• Working knowledge of FAR requirements, government contracting practices, subcontract administration, and audit requirements.
• Experience with enterprise business systems, reporting platforms, and performance management tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, assess risk, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to executive leadership and customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and collaboration tools.
• Must pass Enhanced Background Investigation (EBI) and overseas medical screening for Personnel Qualification (PQ) requirements.
• Must speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Must possess a valid country-of-origin driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as PMP, CPA, CFCM, CPCM, EVMP, or comparable industry credentials.
• Experience supporting National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, or other federal programs.
• Experience leading business transformation, process improvement, digital modernization, or enterprise systems initiatives.
