Job Description
Reporting to our Analytics Director, you will create impact in the Analytics Team, within our Martech Capability. We take pride in our work with some of the largest advertisers in APAC, setting us apart in the industry.
The Analytics Manager is the analytics lead and day-to-day contact on a set of named accounts, accountable for what gets built and for the data clients make decisions on. You build and QA the implementation yourself, write SQL daily, and train the people who use what you deliver.
At Jellyfish, we are committed to promoting professional growth. Your career path could lead to becoming the global subject matter expert for the latest advanced technical solutions.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Technical consulting and subject matter expertise
Be the subject matter expert your clients come to on digital measurement. Understand their commercial questions and their constraints, and turn a loose ask into a solution they can act on.
Recommend the approach, not just the build. Set out the options and trade offs in language a marketer understands, and say so when what has been asked for is not what is needed.
Stay current on the platforms and the privacy landscape, and bring that to clients before they ask.
Measurement implementation
Translate client requirements into tracking plans, data layer specifications and implementation guides.
Design, build and QA web and app tracking in GA4, and monitor it in life. Keep the tracking spec current as a deliverable in its own right.
Tag management
Build in client side Google Tag Manager to a high standard: custom templates, triggers, variables, versioning and workspace hygiene.
Work in server side GTM containers, send events into conversion APIs such as Meta Conversions API, Google enhanced conversions and TikTok Events API, and debug payloads, latency and cost.
SQL and analysis
Write SQL daily. Query event level data in BigQuery to validate tracking against the raw data, build reporting datasets, and build reporting in Looker Studio.
Read the numbers well enough to explain what happened, what to do next, and how far a test result can be trusted.
Modern measurement
Understand how measurement fits within marketing today, and what each method can and cannot answer: platform attribution, incrementality and holdout testing, geo testing, causal impact analysis and marketing mix modelling.
Know what those methods need from you, so the tracking, conversion values and media data you deliver can feed them.
Advise a client on which approach suits their question, and bring in specialists beyond that. You are not expected to build the models.
Media reporting
Aggregate media data from platform APIs using tools such as Funnel, and blend it with site and app data into reporting datasets that stand up to scrutiny.
Design the tables and dashboards clients actually use: consistent campaign taxonomy, clear metric definitions, and a structure that answers the question rather than showing everything.
Keep reporting accurate as taxonomies and platform metrics change, and spot a wrong number before the client does.
Identity, consent and privacy
Implement consent mode and consent management platform configuration, and support first party identity work such as user ID and hashed email matching.
Understand what browser signal loss does to measurement, and design tracking that stands up to a privacy review.
AI in delivery and measurement
Use AI tools in your own delivery, for example drafting and debugging GTM templates, SQL, QA scripts and documentation, with your review before anything ships.
Understand what automated buying such as Performance Max and Advantage Plus has done to measurement, and why clean, consented, deduplicated first party data is what makes it work.
Measure the part of the journey that never reaches the website. Understand how people research and buy through AI assistants and AI search, and report on brand visibility in AI generated answers using our proprietary measurement.
Follow the rules on which tools client data may enter, check AI output for accuracy, and explain to a client where an AI generated insight stops being reliable.
Training
Run sessions for client teams and internal pods on what you have implemented, and write the documentation and how to guides that go with them.
Commercial
Build long term client relationships and hold the quality line when timelines compress.
Support your Senior Manager and the Analytics Director on renewals, scoping and estimates, including GA360 licence conversations, and flag where a client would benefit from adjacent services.
Escalate architecture decisions rather than deciding them alone.
Qualifications
Strong GA4, including property configuration, event design and debugging.
Client side GTM to an advanced standard, plus hands on experience of server side GTM and at least one conversion API.
Working SQL in BigQuery or an equivalent warehouse, and reporting built in Looker Studio, Looker, Power BI or Tableau.
Working knowledge of marketing mix modelling, incrementality and geo testing, and causal inference. Enough to advise a client and to know what your tracking must deliver. Building the models is welcome, not required.
Experience with a media data aggregation platform such as Funnel or an equivalent, and with campaign taxonomy across the major paid media platforms.
Confident in JavaScript and HTML for tagging, debugging and data layer work, and experience with APIs and mobile app tracking.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Practical experience of consent mode, a consent management platform, and the privacy obligations relevant to the clients you support.
Curious about AI search and assistant driven discovery, and able to explain why zero click behaviour changes what site analytics can see.
A consultative approach. You ask why before how, and you can talk a client out of the wrong solution.
Client facing and comfortable running workshops and training. You enjoy building long lasting client relationships and adding value to their business.
Experience collaborating with team members to achieve common goals, valuing and respecting diverse contributions and finding practical solutions.
Nice to have
Exposure to an analytics platform other than GA4, such as Adobe Analytics, Piwik Pro or a product analytics tool.
Experience with a mobile measurement partner such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Branch, covering SDK implementation, attribution setup, deep linking and the platform attribution frameworks.
Note: We emphasise skills, expertise and behavioural attributes over years of experience and traditional degrees. If you want to join our collaborative team, we invite you to apply today with your resume in English.
